脂肪溶かすたんぱく質発見＝抗肥満薬の候補に―東京大（時事通信）

　脂肪細胞内で中性脂肪の塊を溶かすたんぱく質を、東京大の宮崎徹教授らの共同研究グループが発見し、9日付の米科学誌セル・メタボリズムに発表した。副作用の少ない新たな抗肥満薬の候補になるとしている。
　このたんぱく質は「AIM」と呼ばれ、動脈硬化への関与などが知られているが、作用メカニズムは分かっていなかった。
　研究グループは、AIMをつくれないようにしたマウスが太りやすいことに着目。脂肪細胞で詳しく作用を調べたところ、AIMが細胞内に取り込まれ、中性脂肪の主成分である脂肪酸の合成を阻害することが分かった。この結果、余分に蓄積されていた中性脂肪の塊が溶け、脂肪細胞が縮小した。
　AIMのないマウスは脂肪細胞が大きく、通常のマウスより体重が1．5〜2倍重い肥満状態だったが、AIMを注射するとやせた。
　宮崎教授は「もともと生体内にあるたんぱく質で、脂肪細胞にのみ作用するため、多くの抗肥満薬にみられる中枢神経系の副作用は認められない」としている。
